History.
This scholarship has been established by alumni Angel Williams, Class of 2002 in recognition of the many sacrifices her great grandparents Alonzo and Evelyn Williams made to provide for their family. Born in 1912, Alonzo Williams was a successful entrepreneur, community leader and servant that overcame many obstacles with only a third grade reading level. He encouraged, inspired and preached the importance of having an education until his death. Evelyn always encouraged faith in God (going to church), community service and strong family ties (staying close and helping). Her perseverance, strength and faith shines bright even today at 105 years old.
